– History:

The Curepipe Starlight Sports Club (CSSC) is a Mauritian omnisports club based at Le Casernes, Curepipe. The club was founded in 2001 under the slogan “A team with a Dream”.

The club is made up of several sections as Football, Volley ball, Archery and Rugby.

The club’s Rugby Section, Highland Blues Rugby, won the Rugby XV championship 9 times from 2011 to 2019.

Highland Blues Rugby welcomes young rugbymen and rugbywomen from the age of 9 up to Senior age.

The Highland Blues were created in 2001 when the Curepipe Starlight Sports Club was formed. Previously, the rugby was played under the aegis of the Dodo Club.

Rugby developed as soon as club rugby schools were set upunder the aegis of Denis Ulcoq, then president of the RUM.

The U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 rugby schools became very popular throughout Mauritius mainly with THREE clubs: the Northern Pirates, the Western Cowboys in the west and us in the center.

It was a happy time because we dominated the schools, but our senior team suffered greatly until 2009 with the return of school players who were studying. From 2010 onwards, our senior team wiped the slate clean, winning 10 championships in a row.
