Northern Pirates Rugby Club
History:
From what started as a single men’s team training on a football pitch in Beau Plan in 2001, we are now proud to have 200+ male and female players, in categories ranging from U7 to Seniors.
Based at the Labourdonnais Sports Club, “the Pirates” have evolved into a community club run by 20+ volunteers, dedicated to promoting rugby values and talent in local competitions and beyond our shores through active contribution to our national team.
Our mission is threefold :
1. Community Building & Inclusivity: The Club brings together diverse individuals and fosters a sense of belonging through shared passion for rugby. It promotes participation from players of all walks of life, especially for women and girls.
2. Player and Leader Development: Beyond technical skills, our club emphasizes character development, leadership, responsibility, and resilience in young players.
3. Physical and Social Well-being: Grassroots rugby provides opportunities for physical activity and social interaction, contributing to improved life satisfaction and well-being. This sport instills values like respect, discipline, and perseverance.
