History:

Rodrigues Rugby – New Passion Born of the Island

Founded out of a passion for rugby and relaunched in 2015 by rugby enthusiast Perrine Laurent Clarisse, Rodrigues Rugby has become a proud symbol of determination and island spirit, with goals achieved through hard work and great progress. Initially known as Shoals Rodrigues Rugby in 2009, the club has experienced a strong comeback and has since grown into a dynamic team of passionate players under the leadership of its president, Mathilde Cloe Gaspard.

Rodrigues Rugby made its international mark by competing in the Beachcomber International tournaments, notably clinching a victory against Middlesex University in 2018.

Driven by values like teamwork, respect, discipline, enjoyment, and sportsmanship, Rodrigues Rugby believes that rugby is an education for life, where humility and heart lead the way.

Since then, there has been a lot of development in Rodrigues Rugby mainly:

1. 2018- Bertrand Ah-soon – Ghana XV
2. 2019- PERRINE Laurent Fabrice and PERRINE Laurent Christian- Senegal XV
3. 2022- PERRINE Jean Baptiste- Monaco 7s (U12)
